Summary of the PhD project:
The research project investigates slope instability under static and dynamic conditions, with a predominant focus on three‑dimensional dynamic analyses, which represent the core of the study. The work involves the use of 3D and 2D numerical modelling to examine slope response in highly anthropized environments. The main objectives are: (1) to reconstruct high‑resolution 3D engineering-geological subsurface models through a multi‑source approach by integrating geological data, field surveys and site investigations; (2) to develop a sensitivity study aimed at understanding how the deformational response of the slope varies with changes in the geotechnical parameters predisposing failure; (3) to assess seismic‑induced landslide identifying triggering conditions and the most influential factors controlling landslide behavior.
