Hi, I'm Vincenzo and my PhD project has been designed to tackle the problem of climate change. The problem relating to CO₂ emissions into the atmosphere from industry, and other human activities, is well known and many scientists have been trying to solve this problem for years. One of the main approaches is to develop materials capable of absorbing CO₂ from the exhaust gases of ‘hard-to-abate’ industries. However, it is not easy to find materials whose properties are balanced in such a way as to be efficient in every respect. My challenge follows this line of research. In particular, it consists in producing hybrid DES-polymer systems useful to capture CO₂ in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
