Italian fluoritites: a study for their sustainable industrial exploitation

This PhD project is industry-based and co-funded by So.Ri.Co.M. srl. The research focuses on identifying new deposits of fluoritites or flor-ore associated with carbonatites in Italy, with particular attention to the Lazio region. The main objective of the study is to identify, investigate and characterise these rocks using advanced analytical techniques, with particular attention to petrography, mineralogical composition and geochemistry. The results obtained contribute to the development of a petrogenetic model of the deposit and provide the company with detailed scientific data to support resource assessment and exploration activities.

At the same time, I carry out continuous monitoring of mining operations through periodic sampling and quality control of the company’s commercial products via mineralogical analyses.
